Maryland is a closed primary state. You cannot vote outside your declared chosen party in a primary election - Democrats must vote on democrat ballots and republicans can only vote on republican ballots. Independent or unaffiliated voters are excluded from participating in the party nomination contests. You can choose or change your party affiliation by contacting the BOE by June 28, 2022 (5:00 pm in person and 11:59 pm online).

If you elected to vote by mail, you should receive your ballot about 35 days or more before the primary election. To request a vote by mail ballot, go to: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration/InstructionsStep1

Early voting for the July 19 primary is scheduled to run from July 7 to 14, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. Early voting centers can be found here: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Elections/EarlyVoting/2022EarlyVotingCenters.html.
